News regarding the upcoming 2010 Softball season:

Welcome to the 2010 softball season! I hope that the lack of snow this winter has you all looking forward to getting outside soon to throw a ball around! (hint, hint!)

Here are some important dates that you will all need to mark on your calendar to have a successful season:

Registration night is THURSDAY, MARCH 11^th , 5-7pm @ Sabattus Central School.  You are welcome to mail in your registration form to the Rec Club’s address (at the top of the reg. form). ALL REGISTRATION FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 25^TH , 2010-----NO EXCEPTIONS!! If form is received after this date, your child may not have a spot on a team!

A coaches meeting will be held at Sabattus Central School Cafe, Thurs., April 1^st @ 6pm.  All who are interested in assisting and coaching this year are required to attend. Contact Jen Waterman @ 375-4882 if you are interested.

PARENTS MEETING will be Thursday, April 8^th, at 6:30pm at Sabattus Central School gym.  Players and parents will receive practice schedules, fundraiser tickets and team assignments that night.

Our fundraiser this year will be a Ruby Tuesday Pancake Breakfast, Saturday, May 1^{st ,} 8-10am. Our pancake breakfast last year raised over $2000 for our program, so sell those tickets!!

We are looking for businesses who would like to sponsor some of our teams, and those who might be interested in having a sign posted at the field (a sign contract). If you, or someone you know, would like to support Sabattus Rec Softball, please contact Jen Waterman, Director at softball@sabattusrec.com, or at 375-4882.

• REGISTRATION FORMS WILL BE GOING HOME WITH YOUR CHILD BY THE END OF FEBRUARY........PLEASE BE LOOKING FOR THEM.  THERE WILL ALSO BE FORMS AT THE SABATTUS TOWN OFFICE, WALES CENTRAL SCHOOL AND SABATTUS SCHOOLS, AS WELL AS A FORM THAT CAN BE DOWNLOADED AND PRINTED OFF. NEW FIELD LOCATION INFORMATION: Please vist the Field Locations page and print out custom directions to the fields we will be playing at this year.  There are new teams and locations we will be playing against this year, so make sure to get the directions before you leave.  You can also print out the locations from the Calendar pages.  Just click on the event and in the dialog box (bubble) that pops up, choose “map” and a new window will open showing the location of the field.  From there you can click on the link to get directions and by putting in your address, you can get directions from where ever you are. E-mail the webmaster if you have any questions on how to use this feature.

You will also find attached the new Player Code of Ethics, as well as the rules for each age group team that we will be having in our new league we're in (I'll get you a description of the 4-6yr old asap; you can put it as a team, though). 

The new league that we are now in is the Central Maine Youth Softball League, with the following towns participating:  Mt. Vernon, Readfield, Wayne, Manchester, Winthrop, Monmouth, Gardiner, Sabattus/Wales, Lisbon.  The rules (by age group) for this new league are attached to the pages for the appropriate age groups.  Click on the buttons to the left to or the links below to go to those pages.
